Smile Caddyrage's Caddyvan TDi

Think most of you know i been after another caddyvan for a while now since selling the ice blue 1 i had
linky to it here http://www.vwcaddy.com/showthread.ph...caddyrages+van

Knew i had to get a TDi version this time as the sdi model is bloody crap for performance, slower than a mk1 1.6D infact.

Anyways, Soon as AL stuck this 1 up for sale, i was on the case to make it mine lol.

So here she is, few pic's that AL sent me.
Totally standard(for now )

Its in Good condition with only minor dings to doors and bonnet, easily repairable. 167k on the clock but drives great.
Well happy with my new daily

Bring on the mods
This is gunna look sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!

External...
Well its obviously gunna be lowered when i find some good coilovers. I still have the splitties that was on the ice blue van but i going to paint them for this 1 first. Will use the G60's off my truck for now.
De-rubstrip the sides, remove rear wiper and badges. clear repeaters and indicators. Tint rear lights red. legal pressed plates.

Internal...
Find some nice seats instead of the hard standard things
ibiza/cordoba centre console
probs fit all my Alpine sounds in from my truck

We'll see what happens when all thats done

Robbed my truck of the G60's so here's a pic with them on my van. Also shows the standard height as i in the process of flipping the axle at the mo

Was'nt going to lower so soon but a pair of brand new front janspeed coilovers came up for a good 'buy it now price' so i had to have them
Collected them today as they was local before stripping the rear down when i got back.
Good job i decided to do the flip sooner as when i disconnected the flexi pipes, no fluid came out lol , weird really as it all looks like its had an overhaul recently from the signs of it having new brake shoes and all moving parts being coated in copper slip. MOT up on the 26th aswell.

Here's a pic of the wheels that was due to go my truck, unfortunately the paint has slightly reacted in places so i've demoted them to daily's. I've stripped my silver rm's so i can use the lips on these and repaint the baskets ready for my truck. Work will do them for free in any colour .
Pic dont do these justice but they candy cherry

Going to see if its cheaper to rechrome original bolts rather than spend loads on new 1's.

Will put some more pic's up tommorrow of the newly slammed van if i get it all done before dark.

Now lowered

Few pic's for you all
Wanted to go a little lower with this 1 so decided to place the mounting plates on top of the other plate found on mk2 axles. I then used some plumbing aluminium tape to cover the old locating pin hole

Least if i decided to put blocks in, i'll be able to drop a bolt straight through rather than having to remove again just to drill another hole.

Painted over with hammerite

I then coated it all with sealer along with the bare metal area's where i removed the spare wheel cage brackets.

Pic of the rear stack

Rear all done

Original fronts

95 quid janspeed coilovers

Was dark by the time i finished so here's a couple of crappy pic's just to show it lowered

Will wait for fronts to bed in and settle before adjusting them again

What ya thinks now then

Yeah, well pleased with my work on the van, specially as i had to bare the bloody cold from the mornings snow.

The G60's will stay for time being til i get the rear arches rolled. I'll then be fitting the splitties.
