mk3 golf gti 2ltr 8v

i have acomplete car . can anyone tell me what parts are a straight swopover onto a mk1 1.6 petrol caddy.

In answer to your original question dude, the engine will bolt in without any issues.
So will the gearbox if it's a rod change item. You just need mk1 5sp mounts.

brakes are usable if they are lucas or girling (280mm) Al sells brackets to bolt these straight on.

Exhaust downpipe won't fit - you'll need a specific downpipe to fit a tall block into a MK1 chassis

Fuel pump isn't a direct fit either - aftermarket is probably easier or mk1 or mk2 items.

Wiring will probably be the worst bit but at the same time it's not a major job either.

Get stuck in, take pics and ask when you're not sure. There's some very helpful people with very good knowledge on here.
