Update......finally

Did some work on the cad today, about time really, the jetta seems to have been getting far to much attention.
well at the start of play she looked like this.

To this....

And by the end of playtime.....

Last pic shows some surface rust on the exhaust/gear tunnel it'll be taken back to shiney metal and etch primered.

I was only meant to rough up for primer, things got a tad OCD and ended up taking all the sound deadening off, which revealed a hole, after primer and paint, dynamat or some other will be used, all over the cab floor doors and roof.

Seam sealer, and water, do not mix

Prepping the cab for primer, today an whilst sanding noticed a sponge patch near to the seat belt bolt, after more prodding with a screwdriver I ended up with this.....

After a meeting with the angle grinder it looked like this

And yes that is daylight through the sill, its knackered too , the other side of the caddy is the same. DAMNIT

........keep plodding on moose, it'll get there.....one day...

Mine went in exactly the same place

You can buy new inner sills, which makes its an easy fix

Keep up the good work

Deja vu there, I had an identical hole in mine. although that was the first job I tackled. First thing I did to my caddy was prodding at the sills to make sure they were sound. They weren't really

first quarterly up date.....

Un-employment forces a caddy attack of epic proportions, I plan paint within 8 weeks...... hopefully...

Anyway got some bits back my my mate whos gonna be doing the spray job, he was working alongside me in the unit but the work kept piling in so he's now set up a fully fledged company up just down the road, full on booth and all that jazz....

......sent of my sorn declaration a few weeks back, 2 years this has been off the road... WTF

I'm back in work at the moment and not having much time to do things but did manage to get all the underside stripped off ready for some sandblasting followed by some POR-15.
The flipped axle is gonna be swapped with a mate who also has a caddy and wants his flipped, but needs to get his caddy back on the road the same day.... so I'll flip the new axle and purchase a rear arb off Al and weld the brackets on and also paint on some POR-15, Fit it then trailer it to the bodyshop for paint......... That'll probably take me to summer 2010
