looking nice mate, just ordered some wheels from vip style myself for the cad when it come out the garage in a month or so (hopefully indian winter will come thru) they are along the same line but 14s as just running 256 brakes! and jees did i gulp at price but no other rims are close in my opinion, bread sandwiches for me. Drive shaft wise there is a breakers near pocklington (yorkshire, ten miles outta york) they always getting roccos in and after months of looking round i went to them, took em off the car and guy wanted a tenner a pop for them (bargain after being quoted in the 90's elsewhere and even 165 from new ones somewhere) number is 01759 303716 or i could have a look next time i go past and if there are some could post to you if they wont.

good luck, looking sweet joe

you done anymore to this as last post was about 3 months ago ? im looking fitting a new engine and yours looks the tits did you have to change much to fit yours or is it a straight fit ?
Id love to say its up and running but sadly due to lack of money/motivation/rain its kinda still in the same state But for once! I actually can spend my entire pay packet on her this month. No debts or crappy bills to pay (or ex gf's to pay back)
So theres gonna be some good progress in the coming weeks
The engine is a fairly straight forward swap mount wise. Theres a few other lil bits and peices you need like the exhaust downpipe and wiring bits etc.
Been done loads so youll find lots of info on most the vw forums

Waterboy, sounds good dude, if you get a chance let me know as Im still searching

Joe, what wheels you go for in the end? the 03's? Id love to know what ofset etc you went for and defo love to see some pics of them on
I know what you mean, I havent seen another set of wheels that in my opinion come close
Cheers for that number of the breakers, Ill give em a ring as Im gonna be needing some prett soonish

Talking

Righty then, Ive awoken from my vw coma!

Phone calls are being made today to literally take the cadster to my mates garage (handy) and leave it there until he makes it work!!

My mate Tom has just bought Chris's (brinkser's) old caddy and he only lives down the road from me so I cant have another caddy driving round here like it owns the place

Nearly 3 years of blood, sweat and tears!! The old motto comes to mind -

Watch this space in the next couple of months

Nice one, I'm sure its your destiny to complete and drive your Caddy, it will defo be a show stopper, and although I don't frequent the major VW shows, if I was to hear your caddy was to be at one, it would be worth me going just to see it for real! Nice one, the brinkster caddy is nice but yours has some original ideas.

Just a teaser

Picked up the wheels from my mate who sprayed em tenner a wheel

Went for the beige in the end, rubber next week then I can drop her officialy on the deck. Got a mk1 gti wiring loom down at the post depot to pick up.
Some brand new wishbones and ball joints are being mated with some poly bushes at my mates garage at the moment.
Got a few more things the interior also a nice chrome vag mirror for the drivers side.
I can almost see the end in sight!!!
