project rust, err i mean my 1st caddy

hi there guys, im new to the forum, n got my 1st car bout week ago, had been wanting 1 since i was a kid, n when asked by my dad what van would i like for work, i jumped at it to get one lol, so after a long wait of findin 1 i got this! a 1985 mk1 1.6 oil burner!

now i no what you are all thinking, shes a hunny, lol, i couldt wait to get it bk n start work on it, i knew there was gonna be a "bit" of work needin,





so after gettin it stripped down this far i started to really look round at wot igot,





i could put 100 more pics of all the rust iv found but im sure you all sen it all befor lol, that is as far as iv got so far, and after a lot of thought and adding up what its gonna cost me for all parts to fix her up again, iv dicided to cut my lossers n get a shell, i'm now waiting for it to be dropped of so i can continue on with my project, sorry for showin all the boring bits, but we have start some where lol, enjoy n all coments welcome

lol, yer it is, like i said i could posted tons pics of the rust rought i'v found, n in all honestly by time i cut it all out n done it i wud had a nearly new truck!! n cheers mate, think im gunna need it lol

A replacement shell is probably the easiest way for sure but other than the rust everywhere it looks quite straight. It also seems to have good B pillars and although you cant see much of it, the bed looks fairly straight.

yer you are right bout the rust, but there somegood bits on it witch i can use!

but look what some nice person has just dropped of for me









this is bout the worst bit iv found so far,

and to go with it witch i was't expecting,




just need to get some polly bushers n i can start 2 get it on a rolling chassis! let the work comence

dont use polybushes on the engine if its diesel, rattles like f*ck

looks a bloody good shell

i wast gonna use the old oil burner, wantin a little more poke, so im hoping n waiting on pickin up a mk2 golf gti 1.8 16v, just waiting see if mate will take the offer, as for the old shell, i'm sure a lot of you mite geuss what you can do with an old buck!!! lol, moss you can have that paint code if ya like dude, n if the car is out front you know im bout n pop round when ever,

not been able to do to much yet to the body but have been busy cleaning up the wishbones and the front shocks ready to have a coat paint,
1st coat primer

then the base coat of silver,


n then the top coat of red!


then did the same with the shocks

n just see how it gonna look in the well,

not been doing much as waiting on parts to come in but did nick 2 of the laughing caddys wheels today, just to get a pic in my mind on how its gonna be sitting,




and got a quick pic of the golf n caddy together lol


hoping to get some done soon!! really want get on n get it ready lol, all coments welcome

Getting a rust-free body dumped off on your drive....





And I thought I would have a friend that also has a caddy project that is as rotted as mine is.
