mk2 caddy pickup 150gttdi engine

hello there new to this forum, just bought a mark 2 caddy pick up as a project going to try to fit a 150 gt tdi out of a mark 4 golf just wondered if anyone has ever done this and what problems i will run into. cheers

Wow, awesome plans, I don't think anyone has done this transplant,
they are a bit of a grey area when it comes to what fits and what doesn't,
so I can't wait to see how you get on!!!

As far as pictures go - use the "manage attachments" section of the new post and you can whack them in that way!!!

Crack on, can't wait to see it!!

ok think iv cracked it?pics should be here. striped it fully last week gunna get cristmas out off way then start welding on it/ ie new front wings new back wings new rear floor

ok ad a play with the rad and intercooler the rad will av to go on the inside and intercooler on the front they both wont fit inside? it really tight when engine is sat in / the engine mounts will av to be made nothing is the same ha ha nothing at all/ gunna get some chassi legs out the mk4 golf and see if i can fabricate the mount holders on to my chassi legs then can ues the vw mounts thats on my engine think thats gunna be best way ? eny one know a good up grade for brakes on the mk 2 caddy what fits ?

Rad looks like a great fit, but I thought you'd struggle trying to get the intercooler in there too!! Damn.
Could it not mount outside the engine bay but still up underneath the front bumper, IIRC the bumper has a bit of room behind it.....
Great start being made, and now you've cracked the pictures thingy you've no excuse not to keep us updated.......
What do you do, you seem to have some skills there buddy!

think am gunna buy an after market intercooler so it fits behined the front bumper low ? but think the grill and bumper would cover it like it is at a push avent made my mind up yet? am a plaster buy trade . allways messed about with cars and bikes . but this is my first build ow cheers for showing me how to load pics on

Wot r the tyres like and il chuck you my 13 inch allys to roll around on all with loads of tread, what was the motor like before you pulled it out?

al the tyres are good few scuffs on alloys ? the engine is a minter she fired up every go .put 10 qwid in it and it did 137 miles ha ha it might need a new starter motor it started to get a bit lazey .yes your wheels will do fine cheers

my mats work shop is shut for cristmas al my styff is down there hes open monday. tues .wed after that it will be satarday then back to nor so its up to you pal ? where you comeing from

South miford (5mins from where the M62 crosses the old A1) not far from Ferry bridge so your not far away, il get back to you for a day i can get down,

once the engines in, do a real detailed write up on the electrics... as that's what will stop me copying you... lol

cheers ha ha this is how am gunna do it i bought the engine and wireing loom clocks ecu complete and its a 3 door so should be easy to put in this way the clocks will fuction like in a normal golf . yes it will chuck air bag lights up and the read door and many outher things but mi pal at vw will cancel or bi pass the one that dont need to be there when av got it up and runing ? i could have got it wired in to the old loom but a whant it run though the clocks like it should i av got a mk4 dash board and a audi tt one the golf one is 2 inch too long but could be made to fit then i would have it coverd ? the audi tt one fit stright in and looks mint just need brackets fabricating i av 2 996 turbo electric seats for the front so which ever i dash i put in i will av it re trimed or painted with the door cards to mach th black leather seats
