    Project: Men in Black

I have always wanted one of these 64 Galaxies in black! So when this come up I had to have it, so im now having a bit of a car re-shuffle to be able to fund it.

She is a 1964 Galaxie 500 Fastback which is an identical triple black to the one used in MIB3

It has 390 ci V8 (6.5 ltr) FE Big Block 300hp. Apparently they 0-60 in 7.5 secs so were proper rapid in their day considering its nearly 2 metric tons!

It just had a new headliner & carpet before it was shipped from Cali, so thats saved some hassle

Just a machine polish to hopefully get some shine back and set of wheels.

Plus any other things that need doing to keep it roadworthy. Power steering isnt working at the moment, and its not starting on the key (having to bridge the solenoid), so they are first on the list.

But I need to concentrate on selling my 69 Ranchero first

Have you got the black suit and shades? You'll need one of those memory erasers. I had one once, but I can't think where I left it.

Fancy a zebra print headliner Al?

Bought, unloved off a farm in Wolverhampton some 15 years ago or so for the princely sum of £400. The kids had been using it for target practise for their rocks.

That is fucking hideous lol And its a 64 Mercury Comet 404, not a Galaxie

It reminds me of a really horrible 64 Comet Convertible that's near me. I want to vomit every time I see it I wonder if its called the "Vomit Comet" lol

64 Comet Fastbacks & Convertibles are a really nice looking car if done right

There's lots of American car shows in the UK mate, the biggest & best is probably the HSRA Hot Rod Supernationals. I will be camping there this year!

I finally got the beast home

    IMG_6306.jpg

The power steering doesnt work so thats my first job to sort out, and the some bushes on the front suspension that need doing desperately

I have also just ordered a set of wheels from the states the same as this 63 has, but wont get them for a couple of months, so might try to find something better than whats on it in the UK in the mean time:
