Duck Bill Spoilers - do they actuall help anything?

Am looking at the ads and not sure if I should try the spit or single on an 82 diesel pickup.
What do they actually do other than look interesting?
Aren't they just a piece to hit curbs, snowbanks and high spots in the road centers and get broken off?

If they actually have some measurable difference in performance I would like to know.

Not sure about caddy specific, but other vehicles use them and are called "air dams" so it builds pressure and you can see wind tunnel diagrams where air is forced over and around vehicle instead of under. Under the vehicle is not smooth and creates suction to ground which is drag.

I very much doubt it makes any difference what so ever. Personally I think the CL splitter looks much better

Its imperative that you fit one,.the amount of scene points you lose through not having one personally I think the carbon fibre ones work best the obvious weight reduction makes a phenominal difference to performance
