    Gearbox selector cables

The gearbox tower selector cables are two long when installed in my mk1.
It pushes the selector tower about 80-100mm to far back in the cab.

Is there another shift tower assy that has shorter cables. Or a way to shorten the originals? Currently i have a seat ibiza 6l shift tower.

i'm using a mk3 vr6 shifter tower and the cables are long on that too. you've just got to try and manipulate the cables into a bit of a bend in the bay so you can to get it to sit right. always find it a bitch of a job to get it to sit right

Ibiza are one of the shortest to use. Just snake them along the top of the tunnel

Good news I think. After disassembling one cable I think that they can be shortened to suit a MK1. Ill save some pics when doing the second cable and post a quick FAQ up.

Seeing as i've yet to reassemble and test the cable this is very much a work in progress at the moment.
