Looking forward to more on this, you decided on what motor you're using? That W8 with a couple of turbos would do the trick!

Haha, I can't find a w8 engine! Not been thinking about motors really just been scratching the head with the rear end!! Didn't work on her yesterday but hopefully later when I wake up (still another 2 hour drive to go!) I will have a few hours in her and get the subframe all mounted up

that one is 4wd too. i think the trouble is as far as i know there's not a VW RWD gearbox. unless the front drivehshafts could be taken out of that particular box somehow?

You can weld the Center diff and remove shafts, I would have done that using a TT Quattro if I was gonna do that but there's a lot of excess weight and it's lazy apparently

It's a type 9 box and fits a lot of vw platform stuff with a adapter plate so I will do some research! Not slept since 0800 yesterday morning

Unsure bro! Need to decide what the route with the engine is first.. may just go 20v T to get her running properly make sur everything works etc then down the line do something special!

Pointless, all that work in the engine bay to make a 20v fit and then tart up, to rip it all out and do it again. Make the decision now.... my opinion anyway. 20v are cheaper and can make big power without going to mad on the engine.

I agree completely, do something radical and that hasn't been done before.

Right, subframe all done all sorted fits a dream all central and square on 3 planes and to be fair looks good.. the only issue I have spotted is the tunnel in the Mazda is absolutely massive! The bell housing is wider than the wishbone mounts and didn't want to chop through them without putting it on here and hopefully grab some advice..
