at least you're making it right now but cutting it all out and starting again. once you're through you know you have a totally solid non-bodged caddy

thats what i keep saying to myself lol.
thankfully It's in my mates bodyshop so I have the use of all his tools etc oh and heating lol so this is helping me keep positive.

Al, do you know if the pick up points on the back of a rabbit pickup are different? mainly the fronts?
I'll be copying eurowises 4 link setup but the front mounts look different, although not really a problem I'm just curious before I cut mine down to suit.

    cheers Mike

The mounts are different for sure, as they were the early type shell, as for position and distance between the rears I couldnt tell you! But to be honest, I would save your money and adapt a MK2 Escort setup instead, I hate their box section axle for a start as it will sag unlike a tube! And your going to have to adapt the front anyway.

    Hi Al,

I have actually bought all the parts already to make my own setup ( admittedly slightly beefed up I've gone for a 60x60x5mm box ), the link system is similar to what is used on my mates race car, but I will take note on the boxed axle .

had a good day today, vr engines ready to come out, and one of the new floor panels is cut in and ready to weld.
I have pulled the engine loom out and was wondering if I need any other part of the loom? I'm keeping all mk1 inside of the caddy.
    cheers

My mate started it in his roller then finished it by hand on a scaffold pole, formed all the square endges in a big arse folder lol.

I have just realised that I have started a build thread and not actually list my plans. so the plan is to make the car structurally sound again and remove all rot then the fun begins.
engine: 2.8 vr6 with custom exhaust. (not too much happening to the engine)
    upgraded brakes inc rear discs
airlift air suspension on a custom 4 link rear axel
    vauxhall corsa eps
    new alloy fuel tank
to list a few of the items.
all whilst keeping it all looking standard ish lol.

    regards
    Mike

    IMG_1542.jpgIMG_1588.jpgIMG_1596.jpgIMG_1587.jpgIMG_1597.jpg
so the drivers side seal is nearly complete, whilst my mates doing that I've been removing bits from the engine bay to clean it up abit.IMG_1593.jpgIMG_1594.jpg

its going well at the moment fingers crossed to have all the metal work completed by end of Jan.
