    "Rubber Duck"...........

    ...............we've got ourselves a convoy!

Those of you on FB have probably already seen this! The plan was to sell it on, but I bought my mate out of his half and intend to restore it for promotional purposes.

As you can see, its the exact same length as a MK1 Caddy

The plan is a new electric start motor, fresh paint & powdercoat in black & sign written similar to my website. plenty of chrome/polished bits and working lights & air horns, stacks etc... And if I can find one at a reasonable cost a hood mounted death proof chrome duck

That is so cool!!! Definitely keep it !

Theres so many cool/fun things you could do with it ! Use it to transport an engine down the road to a friend, teach the pet dog to ride on the back just for comedy value...

Make it road legal !! Please make it road legal ... I want one

It was expensive by time I got it back and paid my mate off. Put it this way, you could buy a pretty sorted race cart for what it owes me But dare I say it, these are as rare as....

Think I must be dreaming, there was a thread about 1.8 turbos, then one not about 1.8turbos, or mystical ones at any rate

    But now there's neither....

  12. #12
No, no updates, I wont even make a start on it until spring/early summer

    Awwww...

Surely you can make time to chuck a coca-cola painted cardboard box on the back and leave it sitting outside the house with a boom-box playing "holidays are coming, holidays are coming...."

    So many possibilities !! Lol

That's great, completely pointless but great all the same.

If you convert it to electric power, could it be easily made road legal and exempt from all sorts of legislation?

Or put a bike engine in and chase slim down the 1/4.

I would go electric, much easier to get away with using it...it's not like you don't have room for batteries.

Pulled this out of storage, and started to have a fiddle!

Someone painted/sprayed it badly years ago which had all reacted and was a bit flacky, also they masked up some of the decals and sprayed over the others

And to make matter worse, the masking tape was still on it lol.....

Gave the frame/chassis a lick of paint! I didnt go mad, I just wanted to tidy it up as it was 3 different colours from what looked like a case of "kids with dads rattle cans". If I decide to keep it I will get it powder coated.

The body was a similar story, the paint had reacted and was flakey! So I flatted it all back with 400, this has reviled some of the decals that were covered in paint. It is now a combination of the original red gel coat, red paint, other paint & damage which gives it a nice patina, so my next job is to clear coat it

Also ordered a new 6.5hp electric start engine, clutch & chain this morning, so will hopefully have those by the middle of the week

I have fancied making a wee kart thingy, where/what kinda motor set up have u gone for?

I wondered about using a strimmer engine but I doubt it'll be powerful enough. Or a mower, or a scooter
