    My Caddy Project

Hi all, so after having my caddy for around a year i decided it would be best to get a build thread going.. i maybe should have started this when i got it but better late than never eh?

This is what it looked like when i picked her up (bottom), and what it looked like before i dropped her off at the paint shop a couple months ago! (haven't got it back yet) I'll probably post a few pictures leading up to what it looked like in that picture and some things I've done

So a few things you should know. I bought it off here from chrispduck after a couple months of searching and think i found a good'n. He'd already done a fair bit of work including an ABF engine swap with 5 speed box, and lowering it along with some extra's like Recaro seats and sliding rear window. Needed new handbrake cable, fog switch and some small holes on the sills patching up. So got that done with my dads mate and after getting it mot'd and insured i started work on it in summer last year

Thanks haha, a lot of people have said that! Its only etch primer that i sprayed onto it after sanding most of the crap off it but i felt i needed a proper paint job
The colour i've gone for is a graphite grey like this

    Found some old photo's!

First thing i did was remove the bumper and inner headlights as I like the look of it much more. I then had the problem of where to put the indicators, and ended up tiger sealing the indicators to some brackets which i bolted to the slam panel

Followed a few days later by a badgeless grill and a pair of new wings as the existing ones were shot. Made sure to put some Underseal on them before hand!

They looked real good but due to the width of the rears (8.5J) they rubbed on the arches on every little bump so i had to get it on the axle stands and change the blocks to give them some more room

You could have bought the axle adjuster from the shop above! Worth the money imo as simple to adjust

And a few more pics i found..

so around october time last year started sanding down the body with my mates DA and just went with some etch primer from boyes.. wasn't being too meticulous with it

    Caddy 12.jpg

the little grill at the front was there when i got it but i kinda liked it so sprayed it black to match the main grill, then put the number plate on and tried putting some back to black on the splitter

    Caddy 13.jpg

Was gonna do the bonnet outside at a later date as it had been painted with emulsion or something and the dust was unreal off it
