    I couldn't find a tent i liked so i brought this instead

    Hello folks, I'm back

Picked up this 1967 rhd split screen a couple of weeks ago, the saturday of the Volksworld show to be precise.

It got trailered to me because it needed a new fuel tank, so the Sunday of the show saw the fuel tank and token shiney bits collected

    Started off like this

Last weekend, removed the engine and replaced the fuel tank / components and a few other odds and ends

    On the ramp at work

    Engine out

    Fuel tank out

    New tank in

    Engine back in

Have put some miles on the clock since and all seems to be going well

    Next on the hit list
    Secure battery
    Wire in gauges
    Sort heater
    Fit shiney bits
    Fit safaris
    Finish interior
    Lower
    Paint
    etc
    etc

Its not too bad mate, painted underneath and a good solid base! Put me down for camping this year

Would of been cheaper if you'd just sold me the Sport lol

Glad to see you back Blenki!

Shame you've succumbed to air cooled misery, looks like a nice one though - have fun!

You gonna make action? We can be van friends unless you are off with your air cooled friends

Went around the bus and got the majority of the overspray / flatting marks and nasty bits of paintwork delt with before fitting the shiny bits, i'll be giving it a full correction detail at some point, but will no doubt end up painting the whole again next year

    New rear badge

    New indicators

New headlight seals / rings / fixings

    Looking better already

Had a go at polishing up the old hub caps, but got to the point where i realised i'll probably just end up buying a new set

I think i'll keep the standard steel wheels, maybe paint them red and get whitewalls?

Got the all important package through the post
