I'm not a big fan of that splitter either but the whole point of customising a car is to make it how you want it! The rims look great by the way.

Splitter? looks more like a front spoiler to me. Should look a lot better with paint on it and it is right for the look you're going for

Don't like the wheels, too much like generic tsw stealth five spoke things - even if they do have a scene friendly name on them.

Your truck, your call - it'll be different.

Yeah I just wanted to be different, most will probably hate it but it will stand out and in my opinion look great. I'm going to run it with GTI arches so was thinking I should paint it satin black, then it will look a lot better and not look like the rest of the kit has fallen off!

Wheels now have some rubber on. I still have to wait for the spigot rings to arrive but couldn't resist quickly putting one wheel on. I wound up the coils 15mm to fit the wheel under the arch without it touching but otherwise they will fit perfectly. IMG_9136.jpgIMG_9137.jpg

The front lows still need a bit of fettling though!

Spoiler looks better in black, chrome bumper doesn't belong there now. (never belongs on any caddy TBH) even less so with a early nineties style kit.

I think they look kind of cool even though thy are from a T25.
I do but the GTI arches still need to go on, will have a look once I have them.

I need to make some extended end caps like the yank ones really, as it does look a bit strange. I am going to leave it for now though.

Any weight reduction helps when you have a 1.6 diesel IMG_9481.jpg

Did them tonight and then found out that my drivers door is stuck, was a bit sticky before I went on holiday, thought I fixed it but obviously not. Can't open it inside or out so looks like I'm going to be taking the door card off at the weekend unless someone has a quick tip for opening the door.

Managed to get the door open, a piece in the handle was snapped so have now replaced.
Got some GTI arches so decided to fit only the fronts and put some genuine caddy arch spats on the back instead of the poorly fitting golf examples I had before.
All ready for my annual trip to the Berkeley VW show, which I took no pictures of the car at
    Got this one afterIMG_9568.jpg

Last Saturday I spent the morning fitting some cheapo eBay number plate lights as the caddy was going in for an MOT and I haven't had any since I put the small bumper on.
    IMG_9919.jpg
The caddy failed it's MOT but at least not on the plate lights
(Will put picture here if I remember)
Today I checked the connections for the horn wires from steering wheel to the button. All was fine so put the push button back on and and the horn was working again. Still produces a very dull noise though, been doing it ever since it was lowered? Any suggestions why?
Also went and got myself a windscreen washer pump and fitted that.
Only have the wheel bearing and a small patch of welding to do now.

    Horn could be dull because:

    A: poor voltage supply
    B: Poor earth connection
    C: knackered horn

With a multimeter you can diagnose this easily.

Can't say I like the look of that bumper man... but it's your truck

Oh so the generic sort of electrical problems. There is no link between it being lowered and going dull just a coincidence I guess. Another job for the weekend, if I can find the multimeter...

Yeah the bumpers are a bit love or hate, thinking of going back to plastic on the front and finding a black rear small bumper instead so it looks a bit more OEM.

Just my local garage, he did the welding on Saturday and went in on Sunday to do it for us. I believe kwik fit also do MOTs on Sunday.

I haven’t been on here in a while.
Few changes have happened to the truck, as well as it going through another MOT.
First thing to go was the BBS wheels.

Here are some pictures of the caddy with my Dad's MK4 (now sold)

The chrome bumpers and sunstrip have now also been removed.
The original but lowered plan is still the idea...
So far I managed to find a plastic bumper in good condition as my old one was buckled, and it even has the plate bracket holes smoothed. It looks much better with the kit too.
Stumble upon a pair of adjustable roof bars on eBay and installed those as well, they also gave me a place to put the plate.

I do also have some original rear bumpers to go on that are in pretty good condition, with end caps and plate lights, they just need paint and a bit of straightening.

Now, for the up to date pictures. Last weekend, Dad and I drove up to Nottingham to collect this canopy.
Liked it because it has the bars on top instead of being totally smooth.
From the same guys I also bought another pair of bumpers, so I can now make a good set out of the two pairs. The bumpers also came with a bolt on towing eye, which I though was a bit different, and got a free hub cap to match the ones I already have on my steels.
    IMG_2771.jpgIMG_E2773.jpg
What I need now is some new hinges for the canopy as both have snapped. Anyone know where I could get some? Will post some more detailed pictures of them later.
Also, how do I change my username to, OllieCooling
