the halfords pro tools are great for people like me, bit like Al said "serious DIY" i suppose. and if i snap one i can take it back any day of the week and they replace it no bullshit. i've got tonnes of tools and a few select special ones like the snap on cutters and i've got a snap on digital toque wrench but only got that as it was a steal second hand. halyards did save the day when i was desperate for a spline socket set to take out the drive shaft bolts on the caddy and couldn't find my bits. halfords sell a whole set for the 1/2" drive

Not exactly a tool, but I bought a pack of 100 "jumbo" lolly sticks a while ago for mixing body filler with.

They have been about the handiest thing I've ever had in the garage for general scraping, spreading, mixing etc etc

    And you say I've changed!

google play and other similar gift cards, used or given away free at supermarkets make brilliant mixers, scrapers, dibbers, spreaders and spudgers.

Bought bluepoint tinsnips about 25 year ago after only having old hand me down sheep shearer looking ones, first set snapped in a week, replaced and still going strong after copious amounts of use. Also still got my halfords ratchet still and that's easy 26year, looking worse for wear but fine occasionally the change over plays up but ok. Think they do replacement innards still and maybe the whole thing still, had them couple years ago when I needed a 30mm socket quick on a Sunday. It's buy As breaks or needed, been getting metric stuff lately, picked up socket set in b&q as actually included 18mm and a torch set larger size as 1/4" seem a bit small for somethings. Did get a track rod remover for doing the Clio, cost very little and thought would be naff but work well and probably never use again but never know. My favourite toy is the angle grinder , but I just got Howdens account and a free multi tool. That's fun and useful for things you never knew you'd use it for.

you could add on there, anything bought from a jumble sale

Any "kit" missing an 11 and 16mm spanner too
And you can stick Teng in mid/cheap DIY their tools are poorly tempered, they explode on a windy gun.
