    Hah! Did I F**k !

After cutting away what seemed necessary, the rear turrets both ended up looking like this:

I built it back up in layers with the usual 'bend it over the knee' and 'hammer it over the edge of a block of wood' techniques to shape up the metal.

Forgot to get pictures of them though, but I will do

Then the sill's on the passenger side got a simple rectangle patch welded on over the holes, not worthy of a picture lol

And with all the other bits done, it went back for a retest:

And now its back to work:

    And working hard!

    But not too hard

... Nope, the other side got patched, so is still standard... But you cant see both sides at once

I'm already realising it wasn't exactly the best idea:

Yeah, within the 10 days of a free retest

So all of the repairs done, and the cost of the MOT itself... I spent about £110 on the caddy

I didn't want to reply when I thought yours was dead, glad to see you've got it through another MOT

Mine was lowered when I bought it. It is on 60mm springs, and I think the struts may be uprated also. When I thought I was going to be modifying the pick-up I am now breaking my plan was to use H&R lowering springs. They do a Felicia kit which will work on the front, and I bought a mk4 Golf / mk1 Octavia kit which is known to work for the back end. Those Golf springs are sitting in my garage unused.

I have got the gearstick and linkages. No idea what condition it is in, but I never had any problems with the gearshift. You can have it for a tenner if you come take it off yourself. I am out of spannering action currently with a damaged shoulder so I cannot do it myself. I need to be able to move the pick-up so I could not remove the front suspension turrets even if you still wanted them.

When you say kit, do you mean the shocks/dampers too ?

Because rear shocks is the one thing that's always stopped my going lower. I gave up looking after I realised the focus ones are no good.

    The 'yak rack

Such nice weather has inspired everyone to break out the kayaks

But not everyone own's a truck, and transporting multiple 'yaks can be tricky

    And so,

The 'Yak Rack was born !

So I went outside on the morning of my birthday, to find this ...

    IMG_1763.jpg

    GREAT !!

Reluctant to spend any money on repairing this truck, I knew a bodge job was in order...

But I hate the look of a duct taped wing mirror, so I decided to do it properly:

And then decided to use the money I saved to reward myself with a new toy.
Which almost didn't fit in the truck

Well it's been another tough year for the caddy, and the time has finally come to put it down. (I'll do a final update soon to tell the last chapter of its tale)

If any one wants any parts before it goes on its last drive, to the scrap yard :'( ....., then nows the time to say
