£66 from germany but i did find it slightly cheaper on another german site but that was after I had ordered it.
i know its wider than the widest holes but i’m not worried about drilling another hle for it to fit.
hoping to try it in the hole this week and will report back

    Happy Birthday as well

That £66 delivered or plus? Fair enough, do have a go and let me know. I shalln't be making any physical progress in the couple of weeks so plenty of time to ponder!

Bit more research and I've found probably the same radiator as you've bought Mike with a 700mm - 320mm - 30mm core if that sounds familiar?
Giving an volume of 6,720,000 could be a winner
    VW product 321121251A?

Stock for a 1.6d is the larger 570mm, but they're a nightmare to find. I had to replace my larger one for a smaller 525mm, and it does get unto temp pretty quickly now

The main reason I went this way is that I didn’t want to cut the slam panel etc

Makes perfect sense Mike, I'll be trying to squeeze an intercooler in front though so might need to get the grinder out lol

Cheers for the info Blenki, I think mine is still the original 570mm currently

Right, £33 for the donor scrap shell and she's back! I suppose I'd better get back home and start spannering now!

Couldn't resist a little mock up. Don't think the engine cover will fit under the bonnet though

Your engine must be huuuuge! Plenty of room in front of my PD for wiggling things in and out

The answer is yes, yes I shall regret it. The core on the one they've supplied is only 25mm wide?! It looks like it should have a 34mm core but they've just skimped out. Very frustrating!

This is fantastic progress Fuus. I really admire those that are self taught and in tandem with accepting advice from those Gurus who are already in the know. Itching to see the results of your hard work. Keep on keeping on and Go well. James.

Cheers James, I've had another shot and ordered another radiator, this time a Passat radiators with the outlets on the opposite site. Hopefully have a bit more luck this time.

Same dimensions as the VR6 unit, just with the outlets on the other side, and the coolant temp sensor out of the way of the battery. VW P/N 353121253F. I'm going to drop the company a bell before ordering!
