Thread: Project Donk-Back In The Saddle

More progress this evening on the bench seat frame

I wanted a tighter radius to the top corners than the pipe bender would produce, so I kerfed them with a cutting disc.

Fits a treat, plenty more leg room than stock seats, it runs on the original slides/mounts, and pivots forward.

Folds forward for two reasons, 1. it gives me the clearance for the runners to go into the rails, and B. I can put a cheeky bit of stealthy storage behind the seat.

Stuck some teledials on my daily, so the bandeds are on this for now to make it look a little less like a shitter and spur me on some.

Gates shut, tunes on, sunshine on the go, a bit of bodywork today methinks, make the most of the weather

I got fed up and annoyed with trying to get my accident damaged rear quarter looking respectable, without the need for an inch of filler

I used a section of the original door (front section has had a smack), had to lengthen the bottom to meet the sill, i joggled on a bit of leftover bed repair panel to make up the shortfall

Also made use of my landlords ramp in the evenings, got all the brake lines off and the like off, and got some seam sealer on the sill and bed repairs, then shultzed the lot.

Axle will come off at a later date, needs to stay rolling for now.

Using a part of the door for the rear quarter is a neat idea.
