What was the previous owner thinking with the external body mods...? Some people should just stay at home and watch Jeremy Kyle....

Looking forward to seeing it a bit more std looking.

In his defence, it wasn't the previous owner.

Looking forward to seeing it a bit more std looking.
Just bought a bumper and grille - £95 delivered

Now to go and search for Al's sage words about de-texturising bumpers...

Dropped the fusebox last night to get a colour code.......there's a cobra box just swinging there on it's pre insulated terminals, it's knocked a strange object out of relay position 5 (not sure I want to plug it back in) then I notice a bunch of four (non factory) wires just snipped off and left hanging. So I can factor on pulling the dash out at some point soon.

No biggy as I need to wire in my six sets of DRLs, the playstation 4 and 68" plasma in the back. A single 22 awg un fused feed straight from the battery would be best for this, it'll be joining the other ten ring terminals already there.....

    Sounds like a good plan!
I'm not sure why you're messing around with the inside and electrics when you haven't yet painted the bonnet black?

I'm going to order the factory fitted check pattern bonnet bra from VW, not sure why the previous owner had removed it?

Yep - leaving a huge oil slick wherever I go, do I fix the leak or piss about with cosmetics?

The filler neck has a slight weep, and that was the diagnosis from the previous owners 'mechanic' - but having actual looking at it with the bonnet up, it's obvious that the slight weep aint causing the large puddles everytime I park. It's something down the back of the engine, something bloody inaccessible no doubt. I don't think it's anything as simple as the oil filter though.

I think the stripe draws the eye away from the goping front end, in that respect it's an improvement. My little boy loves the stripe it is teh awsum.

How do I remove the blue stripe... I was hoping I could wipe it off with thinners.

the stripe is better than no stripe altho I think you can only really have said stripe on fords.

thinners should get rid of the gop that gets left behind from the stripe but im guessing its a sticker? hopefully it should come all off in 1...

Yeah... put a white stripe on top of the blue, there's an idea.

you could use the blue as a starting point and do a multi-colour-stripe-van

it reasonably easy to whip the engine out: rip off it's face, undo the drive shafts at the gearbox, hook up to the engine crane on as short a sling as you can manage, undo the e three engine mounts and lower it out.

but you probably know that already.....
