    Jimbo's mk1 caddy 'The Keeper'

    Hey. For the past 5 months I've been looking on ebay, facebook pages, here, and many other forums, pretty much every day for another mk1 caddy...
    I've had a look at a few, but none of them took my fancy/too much work for me (haven't got the time to work on it! )
    BUT on Sunday evening, about 10pm I saw one on ebay, contacted the guy as soon as, and the next morning at 10am I was there checking the caddy out
    Deposit is down, and transport to collect it and take it back to my home in Derby is on Friday...
    Only really have this one picture from the ebay ad;

    I'm very happy with it, but I just want Saturday to roll on, so I know it's home in my garage....
    Although I won't be going home for a few weeks yet!

    The low down on it; The under side has been stripped and shot blasted, with all the parts shot lasted and painted, it's so clean.
    There's no rust or rot on it
    It has H and R coil overs on the front.
    The front grill has the red trim around it
    The steering arms/unit has been restored and new poly bushes
    Recaro seats....

    Really can't wait to put my engine in it, and put it al back together.
    Then the plan is, over winter maybe paint it? We'll see hey....
    I'll upload a load of pictures on Friday when I go send it off home
    Cheers

    well after two weeks, I'm finally reunited with her!

    rammed full of goodies;

    straight panels;

    bay;

    interior;

    red trim dash

    seats that came with it

    good condition tailgate;

    underneath, shot blasted and stone chipped - nice and clean!;

    newish looking brake compensator;

    lovely bed;

    front wings!

    and the paint.....;

    first thing to do was strip all the gear out the back and see what goodies were in there;

    I don't need most of that stuff, so if you need anything, PM me!

    All the bits i'm keeping;

    next i stripped her a bit more...
    windscreen out;

    no rust or rot there....

    wings off;

    and bonnet off, as shes stands at the minute;

    also noticed this;

    saves me a job!

    Right, my goodies that Ive already got.
    seats on mk1 runners i got cheap;

    but they don't really fit

    speedo i stripped, put the white background in, LED bulbs, and removed the green strip;

    (check out the mileage...)

    guages;

    new intercooler vs old one;

    going to have to mod something!

    the heart;

    and gearbox, but i'm on the look for a CTn gearbox.

    front brakes, 256 TSRs;

    wheels;

    front grill, bumper and steering wheel;

    the pretty new, green tinted windscreen;

    driveshafts, looming, turbo;

    other bits;

    Didnt get a photo, but its also got H&R twin tube (?!) coilovers
    Got a bit of time tomorrow too before i head back to Cornwall, not sure what to do though....

    Wow it looks like you the welder and the grinder may be getting a divorce if that shell is as good as it looks, loads of spares for it as well....

    Yup, the grinder and welder will be staying away for now...

    The red grill one? How much they worth?

    Had a few hours today before I had to come back down to Cornwall...
    The bigger brakes on;

    And thought I'd put the front wheels on!

    That's it for another two weeks, off to hamburg tomorrow in the Merlin...

    Wheels on the rears;

    Exhaust stud snapped;

    Drilled out and replaced;

    Rear lights on;

    Stud cut off the IC to make it fit!;

    And now it fits!

    Going to get a slim rad from somewhere to fit infront of the IC...
    On deployment for 12 weeks now...

    You'll struggle to get one in there, and if you're running diesel it may struggle to cool enough - besides it'll turn the intercooler into an interwarmer.

    edit - not running a diesel...still have heat soak problem though.

    Billet steels I think
    I may sell them though, as they're quite heavy, being steel....
