This beautiful girl thinks sitting on my knee will help me get the loom stripped quicker

Made a start on the manifold tonight but got stumped on the 4-1 collector. I've also got to buy some more bends and it was put to me why don't I make a log manifold. It would be cheaper to buy two T' and make a log plus a whole lot easier but I don't know if it's worth it. What do you guys think?

So I'm sticking to my plan of a tubular manifold rather than make the easier log manifold. I've got my mate a get me a length of plastic pipe the same OD as my stainless tube. I'm planning on finding the angles I need to each bit to make the 4-1 collector. If I stuff up with the plastic it doesn't matter as it's free but it starts to cost a lot if I stuff up the stainless tube.

They are the cuts I need to make, then I can weld them together to make something like this

I had hoped to do that this week but I've been off work with tonsillitis

Another shot of the mk3, it shows the damage a bit clearer.

More race van parts have arrived. The remaining bends I need for my tubular manifold and the parts to make robs log manifold.

So nearly a month after I received my manifold parts I've still not done any more to it. Work has just taken over so I thought I'd share a few pics of what I've been up to.

I helped my mate with his inlet manifold for his 2j swapped ford ranger.

I've helped build a shed, this was made with scrap steel and the plan was drawn on the workshop floor with chalk.

Made a compressor and storage housing for a local tyre fitting company

Built a 6m canterlever gate and 8m of fencing

I've also taken up enduro, had my first one last Sunday. Good fun but hard work.

The only good thing about all the work is the extra money I can put towards the van

Not much of an update really but Rob came round yesterday and we had a look at the wiring, we have a plan now going forward I just need to find a bit of loom I removed about 2 years ago. We both think the throttle cable setup will be a work in progress, it's fitted but it's not pulling the arm on the pump all the way round to the stop. Once wired and the pump timing setup it will be waiting on me building my tubular manifold then we can look at starting it

Off to Stanford hall vw show today, anyone else going?

Done bugger all as usual but made a few buys and made a start on some making.

This is a right pain in the arse that’s why it’s started and not finished yet. I’m struggling getting it all to line up and space is so tight in the bay. My first attempt the turbo flange was placed in the centre of the cylinder flange but it meant the turbo was hitting the bulk head so I had to move it over to the side. Now none of the tubes will be the same so it’s hard figuring out which way to route them. I’m still not sure if I might have to cut the 4-1 collector down a bit as I think 2 tubes will hit the bulkhead.

I’m going to try and get it painted by the end of the year but I did spunk a bit of the paint fund on the air ride parts.

Well I’m sorry to say but today has been emotional. I’ve had to say goodbye to old green doors. The drive doesn’t look the same without the van on it

I had to get rob to come and help me get it ready for it’s journey. We ended up removing the rear drums and shoes as they had siezed on. We tried using robs van to tow it but it just dragged half the drive with it. I guess it didn’t want to leave.

    All loaded ready to go.

I’ve a load of parts to go through so I might be selling a few bits soon so keep your eyes open for a sale thread.

It went back on the road for about 25 meters when we pushed it to the trailer.
