Pulled more stuff off the engine this morning.
I think degreasing will be the next step.

Ive goodish intentions this time.
It's been 4 days Harry and no updates. It's in a pile of bits stuffed in the corner isn't it.![]()
Dont worry I havent lost interest just yet.
Washed the engine and gearbox today.
Now I can strip the rest of the engine.

Just went trough this whole thread! took hours haha! LOVE this damn car![]()
Thankssorry that you had to go through pages of bullshit haha
Took the clutch and flywheel off this evening.
I want to find an engine stand next before I strip any more.
![]()
Bought an engine stand today.
I bolted the mounting plate up and my friend, Matthew, just came along and picked the engine up and put it on the stand as if it was nothing. No need for an engine crane![]()
Now I can strip the rest of it.

Not a caddy update as such.
But Ive been threatening to build myself a proper workshop shed for a long time to give the van a proper home and have space to do other jobs myself. The temporary container situation is a disaster.
So 5 weeks ago my ground work and foundation got started

I didn't see much of the work being done because I was working during the day, but 40 tonne of stone went down on the found, 2 sheets of plastic with 2 rolls of radon tape to keep the damp out then 9 cubic metres of 40N concrete was poured 6 inches deep and power floated to a mirror finish

Also had a 3 foot bank put in and planted a griselinia hedge so nosey next door wont be gawking in

Next on the list now is to get one of the lads to sort my steel work and cladding. Another mate will be doing the electric work and cctv stuff.
Ive good intentions of the van being in it by the end of the summer

Picked up a donor car for the caddy today

This is going to break my heart stripping this car. Its immaculate, every option under the sun. Tight as a nut.
That's too nice to break (assuming you like that sort of thing)
you could bomb about in it for a while?
I'm confused, is this for a real caddy or that ropey van thing u had?
Ive always been a fan of the tt. I was hoping this one would be rough because the picture that were on the ad were shit.
I had to send one of the lads to go pick it up because im still recovering from a surgery. Apparently the owner was broken hearted letting it go, he loved the car, its clear to see it was well looked after. The man even sent me a message wishing me all the best with it and happy motoring, I felt a bit guilty knowing what its faith will be
As much as I would love to drive it, it would cost me €720 to register it on irish plates and a years tax is €1809. Thats a lot more than what the car cost![]()
