Notching the chassis....
Is it strictly reserved for the very low, rolling on 13's with 2 inch blocks ? Basically at what point would it be a problem ?

Stupid question if i fit the flipped axle onto the caddy if ive just flipped it without lowering blocks can i use the same ubolts?! Or would i still need longer ones I understand it would be best practice to get new ones anyway but just wondering
yeah you can use the standard bolts. remember to get shorter shocks! im yet to buy some saying that!
Yeah i should get my flupped axle back tommorow and i will be getin some lowering blocks and obviosly longer ubolts eventually aswell as shorter shocks but i drive about ten mile a week if that so no rush it was more so i could fit the axle so i can estimate how far i need flare my arches for my 8.5j 0 et banded steels goin on![]()
my help but try willtheyfit.comnothing to do with your arches but may give you a visual which you can work to
Newbie here and I'm curious to know by how much will it lower the rear of my MK1 caddy if I flip axle without any other lowering devices such as blocks. So to summerise how much does a basic axle flip lower the rear of the car by?
thanks
around 120mm without any blocks

Sorry don't know if I just missed this but I have just flipped my axle gone to put the wheels back on and they seem really close to the arch as in not central have I done anything wrong or anything I can do to centralise them? Also wondering if they centre a little when let down back on its wheels thanks,
Chadders, it's common
you need to drill the axle to centre it.
Full detailed info in the "how to" section.
It's not how you drill the axle it's where the hole in the spring saddle is.
Look at how these are for example.

Where abouts is the how to section? I have been researching it and seen about people making new blocks and offsetting the pin also when it's let back down on its wheels will it centralise a little because one wheel is slightly closer to the arch than the other what a pain lol!

axle flip info
might have the springs the wrong way round if its nearly touching the front of the wheel arch, worth checking with a tape measure
