Haven't updated this in a while have I!

Yeah update on the water injection, basically where I had had the head welded from the previous melt through it had cracked and sunk right where the head sealed against the bore, hence why there was water getting in there.

New head on now and all set for gti festival this weekend.

Time to finish an unlucky season off with a 9 second 1/4!

Nothing major to right home about.

Gti festival didn't go aswell as I would of liked, think I did 4 runs with a best of 10.2 and broke 3 driveshafts so back to the drawing board with them!

Might of added a touch more safety since then and added some rear stays to the cage.

I've ordered some slicks for next year so that along with a bit more boost should get me into a 9

Hoping to rewire the whole caddy aswell as it's got a battery drain and wasn't charging properly, 10 years worth of chopping and changing properly hasn't helped that!

would it not have paid to weld the shafts then sleeved them? they appear to have sheared in the same place

Yeah I should of but was told just sleeving them will be fine, however he didn't tell me he uses 10mm walled sleeves! These were just 3mm so I'm surprised they lasted so long really!

Still undecided on what route to replace them with yet.

V weld and re sleeve them with thicker walled sleeves or custom don octane shafts!

Yeah I will be running a Perspex one, just trying to get a nice fit round the tubes is hard!

i reckon you could make the shafts up yourself Mike, i made mine years ago and although i'm not running crazy power like you i doubt they would break! save yourself some £££ and have a go!

I'm thinking maybe V weld them then 2 3mm walled sleeves over the top.

Finally got the rear window in after 4 templates!

Had to make some little pieces to go over the top of the tubes.

Cheers, it turned out better than I was expecting aswell.

It was an absolute pig to do and to try to get it to fit nicely. Took near 2 hours to fit the seal to the screen and then into the pickup, normally it would be a 10 min job!

Looks loads better using a stock rubber trim aswell instead of screwing it in.

It's not 100% water tight though, may have to silicone round the tubes from the inside.
