the 280mm brakes are on along with the new rims and tyres.
tyres need more of a stretch but these rims are only 7" and when i change these tyres onto the 8" rims they should have a nice stretch.

Havent got round to lowering it yet so for now i made my fat friend sit on the front lol.
It will be lower than this when dropped.

as you can see the bodywork is still underway.

I think you're under playing the significance of those brakes Steve

I'm assuming you're still using the Vauxhall turbo brake calipers??

1st time it's been done at 280mm to my knowledge

yes... but you also need calibra flexi pipe and vw corrado g60 280mm disks.
alternativly use a calibra non turbo caliper with 256mm vw disks.

    So simple,without adapters?
Because in Greece is a bit difficult to find the specific vw calipers(corrado's,sciroco's e.t.c),and the calibra's chance is very good.

also started making my custom rear rollpan.

first we cut the template and the fins that will give it its shape

then we fitted it to the caddy.

    looking good already

then we had to stretch nylon over it.

this is jon my partner in crime who joint owns the garage with me (we take this stuff seriously...honest)

we then coat the nylon with resin and let it set.

then we layer it with glass fire and resin to give it strength.

the whole thing has been coated to stop any moisture getting to it.

once done it will be skimmed with filler, sanded, primed and painted.

    big thanks to jon.

why not use thicker cloth to resin?
    would make it stronger/flatter?

That was just the first layer of glass fibre.
Its now had another 4 layers and been skimmed with filler.
Not really a business although i have just started importing and selling the odd jap turbo motor.
Just a hobby that went out of control.
I had owned a few show/modified cars and a mate builds silly fast cars and does engineering (CNC etc) so we went in on a cheap industrial unit in an old fort to give us somewhere to work but then people would see our cars and ask us to do some work on theirs etc.
Unfortunatly our lease is up in july and im not renewing (trying to get house etc) so im gonna miss it.

    Hi guys.

Been a whilst since ive posted in here as ive been really busy with other work but managed to finish sound deadening the cab

    then fitted the carpet.
my new seats arrived which match the carpet.

door cards and roofliner will be black and tan too.

I have fitted and glassfibres my dash conversion which will be revealled once its either painted or flocked and my dials arrived too.

Ive ditched the dials from the donor dash and am using this fully digital dail that does speed, revs, fuel, and all indicator and light tell tales too.

and these too keep an eye on boost and temp (these are the oil and water but boost is the same)

Hopefully get the 1.6D out this weekend and smooth the bay before it goes off for paint.

    steve
