Has anyone here seen the leaf spring setup on a Ford Courier van. They have a complete moulded rubber version that slides onto the end of the leaf spring and locates into a hole in the leaf spring. Looks like all you'd need to do is drill the locating hole and slide the rubber moulding into place. Job done?

Well its been nearly 3 years since I started this thread (wheres the time gone ), but I have finally got somewhere

Feast your eyes one these puppys

They are not going to be as cheap @ £30 but these are of excellent quality so the price reflects that

I only have this 4 at the moment for evaluation, but will be ordering a batch up

Perfect for any self respecting Caddy owner

Just seen this thread, what is the banging you are talking about?

Reason is I have just picked up my Caddy last week and it had been off the road for full restoration over the last 2 years and has had an axle flip etc.

After about 250 miles I have started to get a knocking, sounds a bit like something hitting the underside somewhere although I couldn't see anything obvious like exhaust etc. It varies a little with speed increase and decrease.

If it is these I will have a set straight away

If it doesn't sound like this then I don't want to thread Hi-Jack and will start another thread

    Cheers

I think I can help you here S2Dicky..... I had a similar sounding problem. At first I thought I had been sold a dodgey new drive shaft. Whilst looking underneath my caddy I noticed my handbrake cables had been rubbing on the rear wheels.... producing a knocking that increased/decreased with varying speeds as it rubbed on the wheel balance weight. Hope this helps.
