ive just had a set of luvly throttle bodies brought in from my shop in south africa. Im going to run an injection system called gotec its from sa 2. My cad is a 1.6 at the mo but thinkin of doing a heart transplant to 2l 16v. So firstly 9a or abf block. then what am i gonna need to get fuel supply to those bodies as im currently running a carb. where will i find a sports tank and fuel pump etc. and then what about a harness for this puppy. The bodies fit on a side draught manifold. I might run them on the 1.6 for now till ive built the 2l HELP!!!!!!!

Lots of 16V info from the ClubGTi forum. I seem to remember a post on there about the abf being stronger than the KR/9A era engines.
hope that helps
Now tell me more about the throttle boddies.....
Cheers

hey dub. i have a vee dub shop in south africa to which i ama partner buti live here. These bodies are manufactured in south africa and they are big in the tuning scene as the tuning scene is huge there as insurance doesnt cost u anymore if ur cars is modified. so u can imagine its reckless outthere. but anyways im pickin them up in a week from a mate who is returning from a holiday out there. Im also getting a mapable injection system from my shop which is called gotec and is cheap and easy to use and comes complete for around 400 quid which i thought wasnt too bad the bodies are around 500 inclusive. if u tell me how to add a dam attachment on this site ill send u sum pix

Ok
1st the picture has to be available on the net or 'hosted' by someone on their website.
Then when you are typing your reply you hit this button http://dubmonkey.co.uk/jpgs/misc/cad1.jpg this will open a smaller window which is where you type the address of the picture you want to insert
http://dubmonkey.co.uk/jpgs/misc/cad3.jpg
Click Ok and you should see the pic.
http://dubmonkey.co.uk/jpgs/misc/cads.jpg If you get a red X like the one on the left the address for the pic is wrong.
If you need them hosted, you can mail to me and I'll sort it out!

9A is the easier lump to fit as its the same height as the KR the ABF is 15mm higher and causes a few issues. Check out clubgti for all theinfo on the conversion though, and you'll find some links about the differences between 9A and the ABF. Hope this helps

that link is pretty cool. U c ive had a kr in a mk1 back home and it was well sorted. IT was in a four dorr though so a little heavier but nevertheless it ran well. Vti and corrolla rxi was no problem. even the odd M3 was no prob between lights. But when i got here i bought a mk3 gti 16v and it ran well for such a heavy car the lump was strong and torquey. I would prefer an abf as i think it would be torquy and rev happy with a well balanced bottom end and the right cams on throttle bodies. The height wont be too much of a problem f it is at the top, im not using the intake manifold.
