I'm having trouble finding a replacement kit for my 88'1.6 caddy. GSF only sell kits that replace Pierburg's on mk2 golfs, and they don't know if these will fit. Does anyone on here know if they will and what else will I need?

Have a look in your Yellow Pages under Carburettor and see what you find. (or go to www.yell.com)
This is what I did and found that buying direct from a Weber seller was cheaper than GSF.

Cheers,
Paulo.

Found these guys for you.....

Motortune
Unit 4a, Cwm Rd, Swansea, West Glamorgan SA1 2AY
Tel: 01792 642920 Classification: Carburettors

'Ave it!!!

I got the Weber carb for my 1.6 petrol Caddy.
I think I bought the one that would fit the mk1+2 1.6 engine as they are the same engine?
Does that sound right anyone else??

Thanks for your help. I've just finished fitting my webber, it seems to go a lot better and a tank full of petrol should tell me if its drinking less.

I went for a 1.6 manual carb listed for a mk2 from gsf at £175+VAT. Motortune wanted £250+VAT. An hour and a half of head scratching later and I'm Webber powered. Lets hope this is the end of my fuel problems.

Thanks
