Hi there can anyone give me some advice. I have been to our local VW Garage as the choke was sticking on. They told me i needed a new waxstat which they fitted and this would cure the problem. they also set my carb up at the same time cost me £200 plus and it still ain't right. But every time i go on a journey between 40 to 50 down the road, the temp gauge get to about 3/4 across and the choke cuts in. If you pull of the road for approx 5 minutes the choke then goes off, if you try to switch engine off when choke is on it pre-ignitions and wont shut down. If you only go about 20 -30 it don't happen.
Can anybody suggest where we go from here? is it possible the waxstat is faulty.
In need of help completely p...ed off and fed up

get yourself a weber conversion with a manual choke, no probs at all then.
