Why is that my 1983 US Caddy loses fuel pick up and stalls when I turn right with 1/2 tank or less? Driving straight and turning left is not an issue. More than 1/2 tank is no issue either. When I fill up it only takes 9 gallons of gas.

Thanks for any assistance and Bentley manual is on order ;)

Fuel starvation could be a pick up problem ....or a filter issue....have you changed your fuel filters?

No, but on the list of things to do. Just seems odd it only does it on right turns and 1/2 tank or less.

Crap floatin' around sticks to the pickup inlet...acts like a flap...only obstructs whith the lower levels sloshing around....

maybe far fetched but I've seen stranger....also sounds similar to a problem we had with our old race car....besides eliminate the low cost fixes first....

It sounds like the age old problem, there is a feed tube from the centre of the tank to the outlet tube this corrodes over the years and when you turn right the fuel shifts to the left side of the tank and starves the engine of its life blood.

The tube sits at the bottom of the tank in that circular part which acts like a cup to prevent this (unless corroded[:I]) when turning
