Does anyone have any idea how to prime the fuel system on a 1.9 D (W reg 2000) caddy?
I have just changed the fuel filter and cant find a priming pump, but the engine is not self bleeding on the starter motor.
Any ideas?

Hmmm, have you tried manually filling the fuel filter up with fuel?
I've never had to prime one so I'm not up on it.

Thanks Garry.
I tried that but no luck. I think ist back to sucking the diesel through the pipes.

I installed an outboard motor fuel hose bulb in line before the fuel filter. Works great for doing this job.
Well my former skoda felicia -98 had 1.9d vw engine and it had a nipel on the fuelline just before pump, open it and turn on the ignition and the pump in the tank pumps the system full. Dont know fe your works the same. good luck
