Diesel to Gas or Gas to Diesel that is the question.

During a diesel to gas or gas to diesel swap is a different fuel tank required?

better body but doesn't run (diesel) vs. not so good body but runs (gas)

It may end up a parts juggle.

well the fuel lines are definalty differnt. It matters which way you go. I've heard of a guy just flushing the tanks when doing a diesel to gas. ran good... for a while. ; )

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO SWAP DIESEL TO GAS?

cause diesel smells funny, sounds funny, and is a bit sluggish. i like the price of the stuff though :)

mine used to be a diesel, same tank. there's products out there designed to clean out tanks, thats all you gotta do, just flush the thing out. then run new fuel lines.

I have heard Por 15 Marine Clean is good for removing all traces of fuel in tanks

I've heard a nasty rumor that there about 3 new tanks left in the US. Can UK/German tanks be imported to the US?

3? sounds possible. which are you talking about the stock 15? or the option 25? (i think those numbers are correct... around there anyways)

I've just converted my Diesel to petrol, and basically drained all diesel and left for a week or two, then flushed using petrol, and its now running, only problem i've found is the diesel tank sender, has different plug to the petrol(im using a 85 cabriolet,1800 8v)i had intended swapping the sender from the cab,i havent done this yet,and was wondering if anyone had done anything similair, would the caddy's sender work if rewired,or would the injection one need to be used, and will it fit, cheers

oh this follows on nicely to my question,

if i have a diesel (YUK) and want to run a petrol engine, its ok to use the same tank provided its cleaned out getting rid of all that nasty stuff in there, or is it worth getting a new tank? if so what other VW tanks fit to the caddy or are they one offs?

does the pipe size matter? would it be over fueling or under fueling? or is this down to the pump?
