Fellas a G60 lump has become available near me.:D
Does anyone know just how much stuff i would need from the donor car?
Obviously ECU, Loom, injectors and stuff.
But i have no idea just how different the G60 is to a K-Jet GTi setup[B)]
Any advice greatly appreciated

Biggest issues with g60 conversions would be-First, the G-lader,it's getting difficult stateside to even find a buildable core. Maybe there's not a problem with this in the UK. Second would be the modifications to the core support-for accessory clearance-which further weakens an already weak area. Some cut out the MK1 mounts and weld in g60 motor mounts. Third would be the wiring,if you convert the truck to CE2 it's a plug in,otherwise you have to weed what you don't need out of the corrado motor harness. There's only a couple power connections and about three grounds. Lastly it's a real fiddly job to get the g60 radiator/cooling system into the Mk1 engine bay.

wouldn't the G40 be a better & easier option?

There is another important issue which few mention when discussing a G60 conversion into a MK1 chassis. The passenger side mount required for the MKI is a water jacket cover on a G60 engine. The mounting points for the engine mount are a direct replacement for the water jacket cover. It is a simple bolt on installation.
VW issued a bulletin to its service technicians here in the US warning against this conversion. The torsion and stress placed on this mount is not ideal when that force is placed on a water jacket. If the cover should become loose, all of the coolant under pressure will be lost. That scenario is not unlikely if you consider the constant torque placed against this piece during acceleration.
Something to consider.
