Hello, new owner of an 81 diesel. It has a small fuel leak
went to parts store checked out hoses they said one hose was tapered,
they had one for a rabbit car which is only like 3 inches long
the one for the caddy is like a foot long, has anyone encountered such a problem??if so what did you do.....thank you...(sorry not good with
meters)

I had the same exact problem. I don't remember the size ends, but one was like 9MM and the other like 12MM(put a wrench over the nipples to measure). I had to go to a diesel place and have them fabricate a line. They basically took a 9mm piece of diesl line, and a 12mm piece of diesel line and put a coupler between the two, then glued and hoseclamped.

That's not correct, it has to be a specific diesel hose. Diesel will cause regular fuel lines to turn all rubbery and mushy after a short while.

Absolutely Diesel is murder on most rubber! Not to mention A arm bushings, motor mount bushings etc. etc.

Biodiesel, unfortunately, is even worse. Get some Viton and never worry about it again!
