Right, this WILL sound excessive.
my Caddy is in the workshop right now, i'm having a box welded behind the cab, i will then cut out the original bulkhead.
i'm then going to mount up my pioneer 12" sub which is powered by an Alpine 300W bass amp.
beside this will be a pair of kenwood 6x9's run from a BIG 650W sony amp which will also be running a pair of kinetic mids and tweeters.
it will all be run by a jvc head unit.
i'm not just doing all this for sheer bass but more for sound quality, its just as common to find me playing van morrison or the clash as banging dance music. i'll keep you all posted on how it sounds!!! :D

Should sound very good...mine is similar but has sub in box, not in bulkhead.

i build a custom shaped box for behind the seats in the middle. does the trick :thumbs_up oh and amp under the seat speakers in doors , soon to be joined by tweaters

right, change of plan. the guy who was meant to be welding a box behind the cab couldn't do it (no spare time).
So instaed my sisters boyfriend cut down my original sub box to fit where a centre consul would be (i have no dash lowers). it does take up some of the passenger leg room but hey i don't have to sit there!
the 6x9's and amps are mounted behind the seats on a sheet of ply, 6inch mids in doors and tweeters cut into the big rubber gromits just below the top seatbelt mount.
A friend who runs sound system at raves has told me that a 3000Watt system is normal for a rave in a field to several hundred poeple, the system in my caddy is currently 1300Watt!! It sounds amazing!!!!!!!
That said i would be very interested to see Tinypeepee's custom sub box as this sounds like a much better idea.

Has cutting down the sub box affected the way the sub sounds??

yeh i think it has affected the sound a bit, but to be honest thats probably for the best as you virtually sit on the box.
photo's will be here soon as i've tidied it up a bit as it looks a bit like its all been thrown in at the mo.
i'd love to see some pics of how anyone else has managed to cram a big system in!
