View Full Version : Paypal Donations

There has been a lot of talk over the last few months by members wishing to help out with the running costs of the forum.

Now that the site looks to finally fixed I have activated the "Paypal" donation button to the top navigation bar for those who wish to donate.

This donation is by no way compulsory, so dont feel as if you have to donate if you dont want to.

But if you feel the forum helps you and you want to give a little back then by all means please donate what you can no matter how little

Retrofication/Just Caddys will continue to fund the forum shortfall, so the monthly target will be met regardless

I have not used the payment system before so lets see how it goes and I will adjust anything on the fly :)

Cheers and thanks for your support:td

Al

Have you put some thought into some advertising on here?

No, and I probably wont. Many of the forums that have bee taken over by such entities have gone down hill and none of the advertising is relevant.

If smaller business's want to advertise on here then that's something I could look at, but whilst the forums are dead, it doesnt offer them any value when everything is for free on social media

For example, how many people on here actually know that im selling 100mm drivesshafts? On FB I have reached 2077 people to date!

100mm driveshafts! Really?

Are they on retrofication?

And I also meant relevant advertising, not any old shit.

Yep, run out of stock, will have more in the new year

Kinda proved my point, and why smaller "relevant" companies wont pay to advertise on here.

Payment sent! Are we doing monthly?

Payment sent! Are we doing monthly?

Theres no plan to have this re-occurring like a subscription or anything as its purely voluntary, I dont want people to feel uncomfortably if they dont wish to donate.

Because this software is new im just feeling my way through it. Can you all see the donation bar that goes from red to green? (I dont know what you can see as I have different permissions to you guys)

If so you can see we have had a generous amount donated already :)

Well I set it at 50 per month to see how it all worked, its not actually a representation of the running cost which I need to look at tbh as I dont know what it actually is as its all DD

Just had a tally up

So far this year the forum has cost 563.28 for hosting, backups and domain names.

109.90 to have all the malware removed and the website secured

Total 673.18

On top of that there are VB licencing costs, upgrades etc. These are not re-occurring costs, more of a, as & when needed.

So, yeah the 50 guess a month is about what it takes

The cost would be nearly 10k for the last 14 years :0:0:0:0
