I'm new 'round these parts so I thought I'd give an intro. I live in Sacramento California. I've been building air cooled cars for the last 15 years. I just got my first Rabbit truck (AKA Caddy), It's an '82 P.O.S. but I think it's cool. I just adapted a bench seat in it,dropped the front and am getting ready to graph a Cab front clip on this weekend. I've got alot of cool ideas for this thing that I think you'll enjoy. Hope to get some good info from you folks also. Thanks DB

Thanks for the kind words. The bench is pretty sweet and it's all VW. I used the rear seat out of a '64 bug and all the bug mounting hardware. It fit perfectly without any mods to the seat, hardware or truck. The only downfall is it covered up the E brake, but I'm going to use a hydraulic one instead like and off road car or line lock for drag racing. Here are some pics I'll post more this weekend. These are about two weeks old just a couple days after I got it. DB

Yo, that's the first bench seat conversion I've seen a picture off. All I can say is Sweet! That's great to know that the 64 bug seat fits well, I seem to remember a lot of other members struggling to get other seats to fit in. When I see that seat, all I can think of is the ladies that are going to be lining up to take a ride in your sweet ride!

i wonder if the rear seat out of a rabbit would work cus i got one. and if i need to i can cut up the seats in the crispy caddy to make some bases for the rabbit seat. ah think about it no more junk to fall out from behind the seat and get annoying when you try and shift. :thumbs_up
