I've got my caddy only a couple of weeks ago and i was just surfin the internet to find some inspiration for my caddy. I have a white caddy but i'm not shure if i keep it that way. I think black is also very nice. I'll post some pics later. There is still a lot of work to do, but its fun work. I have a question: I know that a caddy makes a lot of noise when the engine is running, the dasboard vibrates because of the running engine and that makes much noise. My question is, what can you do about that?

Hey Prez...welcome to the forum...

Squeeks and rattles are a pain in the a**. The only thing you can do is search out each noise, figure out if it is just a loose screw, bolt or fastener then shim, pad, glue or brace it to eliminate the noise. If it is a Diesel it may just shake loose again...turn the stereo up...

If it's pure engine/road noise then see Darth Garrys "Truckdoza" project..he has used enough Dynamat (acoustic liner) to dampen a 747 jet at 50 feet!

I put a 16v Gas motor in and the vibrating went right away. There should be a seperate Forum for those Diesel lovers!

Whatever bro. Diesel and Gas, we need to stick together, that's what makes this the world's number one caddy community.

I don't think I have earned the right to bash the Diesel Gang yet like some of you. Just let me know when I am ready.

Meanwhile, I just bent and twisted my "Diesel" badge from my '81 before tossing it. (Figured I better take it off the truck in case I get pulled over for SPEEDING and then get further busted cause California thinks I have a Diesel.)

PD that baby blue truck of yours looks so sweet that you are entitled to swing away whenever it suits your fancy (as long as it's in jest)...

It's a diesel, but i'm thinking of putting a gas engine. But first i'm gonna paint it black en changing a couple of things like the bumper.

I don't like shiny colors, so i want something not shiny black. I have no idee if it will have a nice look.

Someone did a matte black finish with gloss black flames that looked sweet.
