Been hanging about on here for a while and decided I'd better say hi. Bought my first caddy a few weeks ago (100 on volkszone.com).

Just sorting it for the MOT, less than 100 should get it on the road. First job is to swap the wheels for some 17" 5 spokes I have lying around then a a quick respray and a smack with the lowering stick.

Should look something like this (different wheels of course).

I'll post some more pics as work progresses.

Needs a few things for the MOT. CV boot (which the previous owner supplied), exhaust has a couple of holes which will weld up, rear wheel bearing needs replacing and a couple of electrical issues.

Once it's on the road, first job is to fit the 17's and then it's the start of many late nights getting the body straight for paint. There's also a stainless exhaust somewhere in the garage from a Rover 200 that I might try to make fit. There's no spare cash at the moment as I need to sell my bug first but once that's sold it's lowering time.

I still won't be spending huge bucks though as the sale of the bug is to fund the restoration of my other beetle that's been hiding in the garage for the last 7 years, unless of course the 1.6 diesel packs in (in sounds like it's gonna) then a GTi lump might find it's way under bonnet.

Dubmodder.com provided a mk1 pic, then I had to chop it a bit to turn it into a caddy.
